While I believe in democracy and have nothing against working with others, certain experiences in working with formal groups, particularly Citizens Concerned about Natural Gas Drilling, led me to realize that sometimes one determined person can make more headway than a committee. This site hosts my efforts to hold Oil & Gas to account.

If clean gas from the Marcellus Shale could be produced safely, responsibly, fairly and economically, I would have no problem with it. If industry took responsibility for all its costs, harms and risks, and was honest about what is involved so that the public could come to an informed opinion, I would have no problem with it. If an informed public decided this is a good thing, “who am I to blow against the wind?”

However, none of the above is the case and the deeper one delves, the more problems one finds, among them

I'm all for clean gas, so let's see the comprehensive harms/benefits analysis for this gas rush which is turning our homes, communities and public lands – 10,000 square miles in PA alone – into industrial sacrifice zones without our informed consent. Clean up gas.
